Dear Mr Bombich,

Today I tried to clone my mac using the new version of CCC on a new disk connected in USB a new Samsung 2000 7200 rpm.
The setting is : Suppress all what is on the source.

It takes for ever. it looks that every few minutes the soft stops and wait for something (comparing the copy with the source?)

I used to clome 250 Gig in 3h now its more 5 or 6h

Is my setting correct?

Can you submit your logs to me for review so I can see what OS you're running and some other details about your hardware? The easiest way to do this is from within CCC:

  1. Choose "Report a problem" from the Help menu
  2. Click on the "Submit Logs" tab and review the information presented
  3. Click on the "Submit Logs" button
  4. Update this discussion to let us know that you've submitted your logs, and please note the submission ID at the bottom of the Submit Logs tab.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
Thank you for this prompt reply,
I send you the log thru CCC.

It took 10 h to clone 200 Giga. The new Disk is bootable.

My disk is a 3,5" Samsumg 2000 Green (also sold now as Barracuda Seagate) Recent firmware on USB.
I tried to copy my Iphotolibrairy (19.1 giga) thru the finder. It was so slow that I stopped. However opening the package I could copy the original pictures (16.5 giga) in 16 min

Regards

Patrick

Dear Mike,

I cloned on a 2,5 disk 600 Giga on which I had cloned before and it did the cloning (update) in 32 min, like usual (42 gig copied)

So it looks its my new 2000 giga disk or the enclosure which do not agree with my mac-mini..

Regards

Dear Mike,

I cloned a new disk and using the console, I found the culprit which interferes with CCC:
It is the instant checking of "Virus Barrier 6".
Once deactivated, the cloning proceeds as usual quickly

Hope that helps other people

With best regards
